It all started at 6.30am (or 5.30am when I fell out of bed and got up with my eyes still closed
!) at Becci Services (well 6.30 for most of us). After the compulsary handing out of the passes and tickets, we left the services at 7 for the hour(ish depending on which part of the convoy you were in) (that one's for you Mad Mark!) drive to Cornbury. Unbelievably, Matt managed to avoid every single pot hole on the entire journey there
After a bit of a kerfuffle
with a steward on the gate, we got on our stand and erected a big, black................................................. MARQUEE (you's have got some dirty minds!!)!! About half an hour later, after a detour around the entire Cornbury track (Mad Mark
), Shaz, me and Mad Mark arrived. While the thunder of the Rally cars descended on the jump and straight, right in front of our marquee (what a prime spot we had!), Shaz and me got the bacon butties on, at £2.50 for a bap and a cuppa this was considerably cheaper than the £5.50 the catering trucks were charging...... mm mmmmmmmm!
While MOST people tucked into a bacon bap, Adi "OCD" Taylor embarked on an infamous cleaning session, seriously, have you seen his meguir's kit
??!! After the baps had been demolished and Adi had finally put his cleaning stuff away, we took a walk, across the rally track to the trade stands. We had a nosey around and bought some extortionally priced Pick n' Mix. Georgie, Kelci and Harrison experienced the orbs, basically, a giant hamster ball
.
Whilst on the way back, I got a rather excited call from Carl to tell me that Mike Brewer (Wheeler Dealers) was attending the show. Carl rang Andy (the organiser of the Rally Show) and Nick was deployed to apprehend Mike.
Lunchtime saw cheese and bacon burgers with onions. Some had one, some had two and some had..... i'm not too sure how many (mentioning no names......... Skoty
). Then................. Mike Brewer arrived for a boot signing on the Cruise 4 Cancer car, a few cheeky pics and some man love love from Carl
After a good old chinwag whilst watching the rallying and with the Cruise4Cancer boot all signed up, the day came to an end, well almost!........ Lee rev'd his car only to shoot black exhaust shite all over the front of Shaz's nice clean car
!! which seemed to highly amuse everyone who had just witnessed it!! He then proceeded to steal Adi "OCD" Taylor's job
and clean it all off again, thankyou for that Lee
, don't worry, we'll protect you from Adi!!
Now at the end, with everything packed away, (some things better than others (cough cough MARQUEE cough cough, Skoty, Adi and Carl!!)) we started up the engines, drove back across the field, over the cattle grid and off for the ride home.
Show was good, food was better though
but then I am biased!!!
